Ink is everything — Painting by Algis Skara
Acrylic on canvas, 88 × 141 cm, 2022. From the Shifting Identities series by contemporary abstract painter Algis Skara, based in Riga, Latvia.
About this painting
They say color surrounds us, like weather — changing, fleeting, often unnoticed. It arrives softly, maybe it’s a sentence spoken too gently to forget, or the way someone looked at you when they thought you weren’t looking. And that moment doesn’t wash away. It becomes ink. This ink moves. It shifts colors with time. Years pass, and we don’t remember what was said — but we still feel the tone of it, like a color hanging in the air. This painting is made of that kind of ink.
